TRAINING - Input from Medipure.

 

  1. HTM 2030 / EN 15883  Appreciation package for Health professionals covers all the people with responsibility in infection control under the guidelines.   From Nurses through Technicians to Managers. Outlines in Full the daily / weekly / monthly / quarterly and annual responsibilities of all personnel.
  2. What kind of support is needed for contractors – Who / When / Why.
  3. Essential Training of  Technicians  and  Contractors in carrying out the Trust’s and AP’s requirements for the hospital.
  4. Specific Training packages in equipment supplied by Medipure or other suppliers.
  5. Appreciation of Infection Control Issues on Surfaces, within Equipment and in the Air.

 

Detailed Test protocols as outlined in HTM 2030  and EN 15883 - Input from Medipure.

Reasoned and Agreed interpretation of the guideline as applied in a practical way to the range of equipment within the hospital. An agreed suite of tests will be defined. This policy definition must be in agreement  with The NHS Trust and Authorising Person .

This involves / Dissemination to:-

Equipment Suppliers and Hospital Technicians

OR

Medipure technicians and microbiologists will conduct all the commissioning and validation work in accordance with the  agreed suite of testing.

 
If responsibilities for all or part of the testing falls to Equipment suppliers or Hospital Technicians a detailed instruction package will be supplied by Medipure.

Medipure will also provide the microbiology test pieces  to the appointed technicians with appropriate  training in there use.

 

Water Quality

Raw Water – Incoming water. Medipure will provide a service to sample or collect water samples and conduct all the standard testing necessary to comply with HTM guidelines.

Medipure will specify and fit if required all such equipment necessary to ensure a sterile water feed to either potable or medical rinse water supplies.

Medipure provide advice on a helpline 24hr /day  contract call out within 24hrs

 

Legionella – Medipure will conduct full audits to any part of or full system across the hospital and advise on routine clean-up regimes – Full reports will be written. Monitoring to L8 guidelines will be conducted and full HSE liaison will be carried out if required by the hospital. Appreciation of all the routine maintenance requirements will be passed on to the technical services function on the hospital site.

Medical Rinse Water Systems – Full monitoring systems will be put in place as well as Endotoxin and mycobacteria testing in accordance with HTM 2030 guidelines.
